Galileo Delight

Wonderful well engineered project. All details very impressive; however I agree with a previous reviewer in needing a simple method to wind the clock. The thumb drive with instructions in English is a much appreciated item. Highly recommended for anyone who loves precise mechanical things. My third Stirling kit, with more to come. Quite expensive but once you see the engineering involved in the design, materials and packaging, you understand.

Funny

I built this with my 3 year old son. The kit is well made and of high quality materials. The packaging and organizing of parts is excellent. The clock does work, one rotation of the hand is 50 seconds. It will run for a few minutes before the weight reaches the table. My only suggestion is they incorporate a method to "wind the clock". The only way I can figure out is to hold the ratchet dogs with one hand and turn the lower blue gear with the other.

This was fun

First of all, it's an interesting model and fun to assemble. This is the second Teching model I have built, and the quality is very good.
But I have a caveat or two.
1) If you're looking for a clock to put by your beside, this is not it, It's just a model that demonstrates how an escapement mechanism works. But it does work and it's gratifying to watch it.
2) It came with instructions in Chines. I was able to build it from the pictures, but didn't know how to operate it until I learned that a thumb drive included with the kid contained the instructions in English.
But all in all, a great pleasure.
