Note:The engine is equipped with a 480 brushed DC motor, and it is more suitable to use two ignition modules directly. you can buy it here. Now there is no need for an ESC, and it can be started directly by connecting a 2S battery. However, the output cable of the thermal head on the previous ESC can also be used. If you have these accessories before, there is no need to buy them again. The battery needs to be prepared by yourself.

Nice little engine

I just finished my l200ac. Went together easy. Runs great. I did have to modify the rocker arms, there was no clearance and the valves weren't closing. I just polished the contact surfaces on the rockers with a fine file then 1200 grit sandpaper until I had a little clearance so the valves could seat. Overall a great buy,

Otto engine run

When I first ran this engine after assembly, it ran great....until it grenaded a rod. What I found was, the connecting rod bolts were a little too long and they were hitting the bottom of the cylinder liner. When I turned the engine by hand, I felt the solid impact of when the bolts made contact but failed to address the issue. I ordered a new set of piston and rod assemblies, ground off about 3/16 of an inch off the bolts and installed them. The valves could use a little tweaking for there is little to no clearance but I added shims to rocker arm shafts to allow more clearance so the valves can fully close. It runs great. Other than the conrod bolts being a little too long, I'm very impressed with the engineering that went into this engine.

PROS AND CONS OF THE FS-L200AC-OT ENGINE BUILD AND RUN

FIRST, I MUST SAY THIS REVIEW IS A VERY LENGTHY AND IN DEPTH BUT I FEAL IT IS WORTH THE READ AND POSSIBLEY BENIFICAL TO TOYAN AND STERLING KIT COMPANY. THE SHIPPING TIME HAS REALLY IMPROVED CONSIDERING THE CONDITIONS YOUR COMPANY MUST WORK UNDER BECAUSE OF YOUR LOCATION. THE PACKAGEING OF THE ENGINE IS GREAT WELL ORGANIZED AND NICELY LABELED. YOUR OPERATING MANUAL IS WELL WRITEN EASY TO FOLLOW AND THE DIAGRAMS ARE WELL LABLED TO CORROSPONED TO THE PARTS IN THEIR PACKAGED LOCATION. IN REFERANCE TO YOUR OPERATION MANUAL I WOULD PUT A LARGE NOTE THAT YOU WOULD SEE AS SOON AS YOU OPEN THE BOX CONTAING THE ENGINE TO SAY, "READ COMPLETELY THE OPERATION MAUAL" BEFORE REMOVING ANY PART FROM ITS PACKAGED LOCATION. I SAY THIS FOR I MADE THE MISTAKE WHILE INSPECTING THE PARTS BEFORE THE BUILD AND REMOVED THE PISTON RINGS FROM THERE CORRISPONDING CYLINDER AND THEN LATER READING THE NOTE ON PAGE 15 ABOUT KEEPING THE PISTON RINGS MATCHED TO THEIR CORRESPONDING CYLINDERS. OVEIOUSLY, I DID NOT REMEMBER WHICH RING WENT TO WHAT CYLINDER. AS I SAID MY MISTAKE. NEXT, I WOULD RECOMEND TO PUT A NOTE ON PAGE 12,18, AND 20 OF THE OPERATION MANUAL TO INSTALL THE OIL SEALS WITH THE LETTERING SIDE FACEING OUTBOARD. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO HIGHLY RECOMEND MAKING A LIST ON A SEPERATE SHEET OF PAPER OF EVERY MAJOR PART IF NOT ALL THE PARTS WITH THEIR NAME AND A PART NUMBER NEXT TO IT AND MAKE THEM ALL AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE. I KNOW THIS WOULD BE LABOR INTENSIVE AND SOMEWHAT COSTLY. THIS WOULD BENIFIT NOT ONLY THE CUTOMER IN KEEPING HIS ENGINE RUNNING AND A BETTER EXPERANCE. BUT ALSO, MORE REVENUE FOR THE COMPANY AND BETTERING THE BRAND NAME. I KNOW YOU CAN BUY SOME PARTS BUT NOT ALL FOR THESE ENGINES AND THE WAY SOME PARTS ARE LABLED YOUR NOT SURE WHICH ENGINE THEY GO TO. EXAMPLES # 40 BEARING OR #70 BEARING FOR A 400 ENGINE WILL IT WORK ON ANOTHER ENGINE FAN BODY FOR FS-L-400 ENGINE NO LISTING FOR THE 200SERIES. FAN BEARING BLOCK BUT NOT A PINCH ROLLER BEARING BLOCK ECT. I HAVE ORDERED PARTS HOPEING THEY WERE INTERCHANGEABLE AND SOME WERE AND SOME WERE NOT. A COSTLY EVENT FOR ME. IF THEY HAD PART NUMBERS YOU COLD REFERANCE YOUR PARTS LIST FOR YOUR ENGINE AND BE DONE. OTHER MANUFACTORS DO IT FOR ALL KINDS OF PRODUCTS LARGE AND SMALL WORKS GREAT. THE CHANGES MADE TO THE FS- 200AC-OT VERSE THE EARLY FS-L200 ARE REALLY GOOD THE ADJUSTALE FAN ASSY FOR THE TENSION ON THE TIMING BELT, THE SINGLE CARBURATOR WITH PUMP, NEW BRUSHED STARTER AND THE ONE PEACE ENGINE BLOCK VERSE THE TWO PEACE ENGINE BLOCK ON THE EARLY 200 ENGINE. THE ONLY CHANGES I WOULD MAKE AS ANOTHER UP GRADE WOULD BE TO PUT A BETTER GRADE OF BEARINGS IN THE ENGINE. I KNOW DONGGVAN ZOTY BEARING COMPANY MAKES A HIGHER-GRADE BEARING THEN THE ONES USED IN THESE ENGINES. WHEN YOU PAY $1.00-$1.50 FOR A MINIUM ORDER OF 50 I THINK YOU COULD GET A BETTER BEARING. I KNOW I WOULD PAY MORE FOR A UP GRADED BEARING JUST A THOUGHT. ANOTHER UP-GRADE SUGGESTION, IF I MAY WOULD BE TO RUN THE LINE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE THE ONE THAT CARRIES THE EXCESSIVE OIL TO A CONTAINER TO CONNECT TO THE VALVE ASSY ON TOP OF THE ENGINE INSTEAD. OF COURSE, PUT A FILTER IN THE LINE. THEN RUN A LINE FROM THE TOP OF THE ENGINE TO CONNECT TO THE SMALL OIL CONTAINER. I DID THIS WITH MY 3 EARLY MODEL 200 ENGINES AND WORKS GREAT. INSTALLED ONE FITTING ON THE CARB SIE OF THE ENGINE JUST BELLOW THE TOP COVER AND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ENGINE. THEN INSTALL A FITTING IN THE REAR MIDDLE OF THE ENGINE JUST BELOW THE TOP COVER ALSO.THE SEALS FOR THE CAM SHAFT HELD FINE. NOW FOR THE BREAKING IN OF THE ENGINE. EVER THING WENT OK THE NORMAL DEBUGING OF THE ENGINE WAS MADE EASY DUE TO THE SINGEL CARB. ENGINE SOUNDS GOOD AND THROTTEL RESPONCE SEEMED A LITTLE SLOW BUT OK. AS FOR THE POWER OF THE ENGINE I DO NOT KNOW YET. I PLAN ON PUTTING ALL THREE OF THESE FS L-200AC-OT ENGINES WITH TRANSMISSIONS IN MY FIVE-FOOT SCALE BOAT. WE WILL SEE THEN. OVERALL, I THINK THESE ENGINES ARE VERY GOOD I WILL GIVE THEM A FOUR AND A HALF STAR RATEING. THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME EXPRESS MY THOUGHTS AND IDEAS. BEST REGUARDS MAX
