Technical Update: 5 Key Upgrades for Retrol D16 Horizontal 4-Stroke Diesel Engine

We are pleased to announce that our latest round of upgrades for the Retrol 16cc Horizontal 4-Stroke Diesel Stationary Engine Model (D16) has successfully passed practical testing today.

The most notable improvement observed during this test is that no oil was discharged from the exhaust port. This confirms a significant increase in fuel combustion and oil-control efficiency, which translates directly to a substantial reduction in fuel consumption. Additionally, it keeps the engine body much cleaner during operation by resolving the oil-spraying issue.

Here are the details of the 5 core technical updates included in this iteration:


🛠️ Key Technical Upgrades

  1. Enhanced Base and Protective Guard: The newly reinforced base increases structural rigidity, complemented by an added metal guard plate. This upgrade protects the internal moving parts from external debris and enhances overall operational stability.
  2. Optimized Piston Assembly: The piston material and machining tolerances have been re-engineered to manage thermal expansion more effectively. This refinement greatly reduces the risk of cylinder scoring (piston seizure) under sustained workloads.
  3. Redesigned Fuel Injection System & Fuel Lines: The complete injection pump, nozzle, and fuel line assembly have undergone a systematic overhaul. This precise fuel management is the primary driver behind the clean exhaust and the significant improvement in fuel efficiency.
  4. Upgraded Cylinder Head: The internal combustion chamber and porting geometry of the cylinder head have been optimized, delivering better compression sealing, smoother power output, and more reliable starting performance.
  5. Improved Valve Train (Rocker Arms, Valves, and Camshaft): The entire valve mechanism has been precision-matched. The rocker arms, valves, and camshaft now work with tighter timing tolerances, minimizing mechanical friction and ensuring smoother operation.

With today's testing successfully confirming our engineering direction, the next phase will focus on applying specialized heat treatment to the fuel injection nozzles. This process will significantly increase their wear resistance, ensuring long-term durability and an extended engine life.
