The Teching dm135 model itself is solid, but I did run into a couple of issues with the sound module. The sound is a little too generic and doesn't exactly match the real F-35 engine. That said, the build quality is fantastic, and the rest of the features, like the visible inner components and motor-driven movement, are amazing. It's definitely a great piece for anyone serious about aviation, even with some room for improvement in the sound effects.
My son is obsessed with fighter jets, and this F-35 turbofan engine model was a perfect way to fuel his passion. It took him about 6 hours to build, and he was absolutely thrilled with how it turned out. The model's realistic design kept him engaged the entire time, and I could tell he learned a lot about how engines work. It's a bit pricey, but Im happy to invest in something that's educational, keeps him off screens, and aligns with his future career interests in aerospace engineering.
Yes it's BIG and complex with 600+ all metal parts beautifully made. Just the best desktop action cutaway jet engine model you can get. Special thanks to the team at TECHING for amazing clear and thorough instructions in the BIG booklet with the color phots and the design and build discussions, info about the prototype engine...done with passion about their subject. My first time building a kit like this but if you take your time and use the excellent tools supplied you'll get there and very satisfying to create what is probably a museum quality display-but wait! lights, sound, ACTION and exhaust vapor! A real 5 stars from me
