Without the base
2–2.5 min
Before the LS-52 gets really hot
With the base
~90°C
Steady for a full tank
Back to back
2 tanks
No overheating
Jamie's limit
105–110°C
Never hotter than this
Two Full Tanks Without Overheating
CISON LS-52 V8: two full tanks back to back at around 90°C.
I was testing out my super cooling base, and as you can see, the temperature stays around the 90°C mark and the engine will easily run for a full tank. I have run 2 tanks back to back, and the engine temperature stayed in the same 90°C range without overheating. The coolant going into the engine is actually cooler.
Without the super cooling base, the engine starts getting really hot in 2 to 2:30 minutes.
The Cison LS engine temperature hovers around 90° Celsius, and I personally do not let the engine get hotter than 105–110° Celsius.

The Super Cooling Base
The super cooling base is something I've been experimenting with and improving for a couple of years now. I'm just using a wooden base with a big radiator, using 2 Cison LS V8 upgraded fans.
At first I tried a single coolant tank, but I knew it could be more efficient, so I kept playing around with different configurations to get to a point where I can now easily connect the cooling base to any engine and extend the running time.

| Engine | Running time with the cooling base |
|---|---|
| CISON LS-52 V8 | A full tank at ~90°C; 2 tanks back to back without overheating |
| Toyan V8 | Seems like it runs forever — over 20 minutes |
| Toyan FS-L400BGC | No problem running for 9 minutes (early cooling base testing) |

Stirlingkit Note
Jamie's super cooling base is his own DIY build, not a Stirlingkit product. The LS-52 is water-cooled, so more radiator area and airflow make a big difference on long runs. If you want a ready-made starting point, the Ultimate Version of the CISON LS-52 MCU Ignition Kit includes a radiator with mounting bracket, a fan, a coolant reservoir and a base. Whatever setup you use, watch the coolant temperature on the DSU display and follow Jamie's rule: shut down before it climbs past 105–110°C.
