The F09-H Weathered Edition is hand-finished to capture an SH-60 Seahawk deep into deployment — salt-streaked haze grey, mismatched corrosion-control patches, exhaust staining, and deck grime. Underneath, the most advanced flyer in the fleet: GPS flight control, 8-channel telemetry radio, and 5.8G video downlink.
Naval aircraft weather differently — salt, sun, and constant corrosion control leave a signature all their own. The Stirlingkit finishing studio applies a multi-step distressing treatment referenced from fleet SH-60s:

Modeled at 1/47 scale on the SH-60 Seahawk with weapon pylons carrying rocket launchers and missiles, an on-board Gatling gun, and aerial refueling probe. Movable left and right side doors, shock-absorbing landing gear, scale lighting, and a high-efficiency four-blade tail rotor complete the picture — quieter, more efficient, and more realistic.
GPS, compass, downward vision, and barometric altitude-hold modules work together for locked-in position hold outdoors and in. All wear effects — salt streaking, fading, corrosion patches, staining, grime — are intentionally hand-applied by the Stirlingkit studio as part of the Battle-Worn Edition design. They are not defects.
Because the weathering is applied by hand, each unit varies slightly from the photos and from every other unit. That's exactly the point — no two fleet Seahawks wear the sea the same way. Prefer a showroom look? The F09-H is also available in the Original Factory finish.

No. The downward vision sensor window, camera lens, GPS antenna area, and all functional openings are masked during the finishing process and remain completely clear. Positioning, return-to-home, and the 5.8G video feed work exactly as designed.
No. The weathering is a surface finish only. The airframe, motors, electronics, and blades are identical to the standard F09-H — same stability, same GPS accuracy, same 9–12 minute flight time.
Yes. The rocket launchers, missiles, Gatling gun, and refueling probe receive the same treatment as the airframe, so the full loadout reads as one aircraft that's seen real service — not clean accessories bolted to a weathered fuselage.
The finish is sealed and rated for normal flying and handling. Like any painted RC model, avoid harsh solvents when cleaning — wipe with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth.
