CISON V8 V1.1 Upgrade Parts Buying Guide | Stirlingkit
How to upgrade your V8 PRO to V1.1 spec — what's involved, where to buy every part, and when you're better off getting the new engine.
Bought your CISON V8 before April 2026, and now you keep hearing about the V1.1 upgrades? Then you've probably been asking the same things we've been seeing everywhere:
We hear you. So let's settle all of it right here, right now: yes, the CISON V8 upgrade parts are on sale at Stirlingkit — including a complete one-box V1.1 upgrade kit — and yes, you can buy them no matter where or when you got your 44cc small-block V8 engine model. Even second-hand. In the next few minutes we'll show you what upgrading a CISON V8 to V1.1 spec actually involves, exactly where to buy everything (real links, not "contact customer service"), and give you our honest take on when upgrading is worth it — and when you're better off just getting the new V1.1 engine kit.
What Does Upgrading a CISON V8 to V1.1 Actually Involve?
Before you put anything in your cart, you should know what you'd be signing up for. The V1.1 update touches four areas of your engine (the full story is in the 12 Key Upgrades article) — and they're not all the same size of job:
| Area | What changes | What it means for your build |
|---|---|---|
| Ignition | New spark plugs, 60,000 RPM high-frequency CDI, 3144E Hall sensor distributor, matched tachometer | These four are designed as one system and must be changed together — mixing old and new causes unstable running. |
| Cooling | Single-layer water pump, M5 cylinder connectors (up from M4), 7.5mm T-joints (up from 6mm) | Better flow and sealing. The connector change touches the block threads — re-tapping may be needed depending on your batch. |
| Lubrication & fuel | New oil pump gear system, optimized carburetor | Straightforward part swaps that improve durability and throttle response. |
| Mechanical structure | Pin-type camshaft fixing (replacing flat key), improved valve polishing | Requires a deep teardown of an assembled engine to change. |
Where to Buy CISON V8 Upgrade Parts — the Full List
Every part below ships from the Stirlingkit warehouse with the same support as a full engine order. One quick thing before you order: most of these pages have version variants, and picking the right one saves you a return trip across the ocean. Here's the whole CISON V8 story on one line — and the only date that matters is April 2026:
First generation
Major redesign
12 refinements · current
So the rule couldn't be simpler — it goes by when you ordered your engine. After April 2026? You already own the V1.1; pick "New Version (After April 2026)" when you need spares. Before April 2026 — whether that's a 2024 first-generation V8-44 or a 2025 V8 PRO? Pick "Old Version" for like-for-like replacements, or upgrade to V1.1 spec with the parts below. Good news for 2024 owners: the new all-in-one upgrade kit officially fits the first generation too.
Bought yours second-hand and have no idea when it was ordered? Don't worry — the packaging, the manual and the CDI are all different between versions. Just look at your box:
V1.1 packaging = New Version
PRO packaging = Old Version
No box on hand? Check the instruction manual or the CDI unit — both differ between versions. And if you'd rather see the generations than read about them, JohnnyQ90 has built both on camera:

Our Honest Advice: Three Paths, Pick by How Much You Love Wrenching
Here's where we'll be straight with you. With the one-box kit now available, you have three real options:
Path 1 — Partial upgrade (individual parts). Just want the better water pump and cooling flow? Go for it. That's a pleasant weekend job, and your engine will thank you.
Path 2 — Full upgrade with the V1.1 Upgrade Kit. One order gets you every core part. But be clear-eyed about the work: you'll be replacing the ignition set, the cylinder head assembly, the carburetor, the oil and water pumps — a deep teardown and rebuild of a gasoline engine model you've already built once. If that sounds like a great winter project to you (we know some of you are grinning right now), this is your path.
Path 3 — Just get the new CISON V8 PRO V1.1 engine kit. If you want the full V1.1 experience without the teardown, this is the simpler route: a fresh build with the full factory quality check, and your current engine stays intact as a runner or display piece. Both options ship as the latest V1.1:

FAQ
Where can I buy CISON V8 parts if I bought my engine second-hand or from another platform?
Yes, absolutely. Parts ordering is open to every CISON V8 owner regardless of where the engine was originally purchased. If you don't know the original order date, check the packaging, manual or CDI against the photos above — or email photos of your engine to service@stirlingkit.com and we'll identify the version for you.
Do I have to upgrade my earlier engine?
No. Earlier versions remain fully supported with like-for-like replacement parts (choose the "Old Version" variants). V1.1 parts are an option for owners who want the latest improvements — not a requirement.
Can I upgrade just one part, or do I need everything at once?
Most parts can be upgraded individually — the cooling set is the most popular partial upgrade. The exception is ignition: the V1.1 CDI, Hall sensor, spark plugs and tachometer are designed to work together and should be changed as a set.
How hard is it to upgrade a CISON V8 PRO to V1.1 spec?
Honestly — yes. The ignition set must be replaced together, the cooling ports may need re-tapping from M4 to M5, and structural changes like the pin-type camshaft fixing require a deep teardown. For the complete V1.1 experience we genuinely recommend the new V1.1 engine kit or full set instead.
What's included in the CISON V8 V1.1 upgrade kit?
The one-box kit contains: distributor, CDI, spark plugs, carburetor, cylinder head assembly, stem seals, water pump, oil pump, exhaust pipes, and recoil starter spring tube. It fits both the 2024 first-generation V8-44 and the 2025 V8-44 PRO, upgrading either to V1.1 spec. Note the tachometer is not included — pair the kit with the New Version tachometer, as older tachs can't read the V1.1 ignition.
I have a 2024 first-generation CISON V8. Can I upgrade to V1.1?
Yes — the V1.1 upgrade kit officially supports both the first-generation V8-44 and the V8-44 PRO. If you're buying individual parts instead of the kit, email service@stirlingkit.com with your order date first and we'll confirm part-by-part fit for the first generation.
