The machine is very well made. It runs very smooth for a surprising long time. I do recommend pulling back the wick so the top of the flame is about 1cm below the boiler. This way it will take only a bit longer to warm up but she runs a bit more slowly and relaxed. Keep it well oiled. There are no bearings and the stainless steel parts will wear out the brass when not lubricated. I removed the piston to get oil inside the cylinder as there is no inline oiler. Great as a novelty or decoration.
An awesome Stirling Engine. I just started working from home and wanted something unique for my desk. A great choice. As soon as it came, I grabbed the denatured alcohol and fired it up. Runs great !!!
I love old things of the past and this stirling engine is a great example. Anything with running gears, pistons, flywheels, moving parts in general is great. This one works perfectly right out of the box and has spare parts in case it doesn't. It also looks amazing with the construction.
Purchased it after recommended by a friend. We received it today and opened it w/o waiting any second. It is a great product to introduce some physics concept to kid.
Really impressive, worked right away. If you don't have any fuel source, you can run it off of the flame of a stove top.
