This is a very good model for teaching in a first course of thermodynamics. Engineering students are motivated by looking the model because they understand in a practical way how the Stirling's cycle works, I mean, they can understand the theoretical aspects of a thermodynamic cycle like changes in temperature, work, expansion of a gas and their applicaction in producing electricity, in real time and in a real way by visualising how the model works.
