Update on the YU XIANG F119S Little Bird: Our Response to the Recent Tail-Motor Issue

Recently, one of our content creator partners experienced an unexpected failure of the tail rotor during a routine test flight of the YU XIANG F119S Little Bird RC Helicopter. At Stirlingkit, we take such incidents very seriously and believe in being fully transparent with our customers. This blog explains exactly what happened, why it happened, and the steps we are taking to prevent it from happening again.

What Happened

During a test flight, the tail rotor suddenly stopped functioning, causing the helicopter to lose stability. Fortunately, the pilot maintained control and landed safely.

Immediately upon receiving this report, we took action on the  existing inventory, which includes helicopters already produced or currently in production  F119S Helicopter . Specifically, we:

  • Reviewed the video footage shared by the creator.
  • Discussed the situation with our factory to analyze potential causes.
  • Arranged inspection of the returned unit from current stock to determine the root of the failure.

We appreciate the creator’s honesty and prompt communication, which allowed us to respond quickly and begin improving the existing inventory immediately.

What Caused the Issue

After a detailed inspection, we confirmed that this was an extremely rare, one-off case. The cause:

  • Vibration during transport, which loosened the tail-motor wire, causing the rotor to stop mid-flight.

It is important to note that this is the only reported case so far, but we treat any potential safety issue with the utmost seriousness.

Actions Taken for Current and Future Inventory

To ensure that all helicopters — including units already in stock — meet our safety standards, we have implemented the following measures.
All units from the current inventory were returned to the factory for a full diagnostic test, and no tail-motor issues were found.
However, we believe in going beyond “no problems detected,” so we have still decided to upgrade and reinforce the existing stock to further improve reliability and prevent similar incidents in the future,:

1.Full Re-Inspection of Existing Stock

  • Every unit from the affected shipment is being thoroughly checked.
  • Focus is on tail-motor wiring, soldering points, and connector stability.

2.Upgraded Tail-Motor Wiring and Connectors

  • Existing units are being reinforced to prevent loosening caused by transport vibrations.
  • Solder points on the tail motor are secured.

3.Additional QC Checkpoint Before Shipping

  • Every helicopter — including current stock and future batches — will pass an extra inspection step specifically testing tail-motor performance and wire integrity.

4.Free Replacement and Support

  • If any customer encounters a similar non-technical failure — loose wiring, shipping damage, or unexpected malfunction — we will provide a free replacement or repair.
  • Simply contact our support team, and we will ensure your helicopter is fully operational.

These steps are already being implemented, so our customers can have confidence in both current inventory and future shipments.

Is This a Common Issue?

No. This incident is isolated, and it does not represent the normal performance of the YU XIANG F119S Little Bird.

These experiences reinforce that this incident is an exception.
