Gasoline-Powered Mini Turbojet Engine Model Desktop Aircraft Turbine Display

Experience the thrill of a real jet engine on your desktop! This full-metal turbofan engine model runs on liquefied gas (LPG) for realistic operation, spins suspended in the air, and looks just like a miniature aircraft engine. Watch the fan blades rotate, feel the air compress, and see the fuel ignite to drive the turbine—right in front of you.

Why You’ll Love It

  • 🔥 See It Spin and Burn – Watch the turbine and compressor wheels rotate at high speed while flames shoot from the combustion chamber. Airflow is visible, giving the thrill of a real suspended jet engine.

  • 🛠 Hands-On Learning – Explore how air is drawn in, compressed, mixed with liquefied gas, and ignited to spin the turbine. Perfect for aviation fans, STEM students, or anyone curious about how jet engines work.

  • 💎 Precision Metal Build – Silver aluminum body with black main fan and white spiral on the nose cone, designed to mimic real jet engine airflow. Made from aluminum alloy and stainless steel, heat-resistant, durable, and highly detailed. No assembly required – just add battery and fuel to start.

  • ⚡ Fully Functional & Safe – Includes engine, external air pump, battery box, fuel tank, tubing, ignition system, and control box. Auto cutoff after ~5 minutes protects the engine.

  • 🎁 Unique Gift & Display Piece – A working desktop turbine engine that doubles as a mechanical art piece. Great for hobbyists, collectors, or as an educational gift.

How It Works

Front Compressor
Acts as the “air pressure station.” Air enters from the large fan, passes through 2 rotating rotors and 2 stators, and is compressed—like inflating a balloon—storing energy for combustion.

Rear Compressor
Further compresses air with 3 rotors and 3 stators, raising pressure and temperature. The result: high-energy air for efficient fuel burning and a more powerful flame.

Power Turbine
Stainless steel rotor driven by high-temperature, high-pressure gas from combustion. Converts thermal energy into mechanical rotation, also driving the compressors. Think of it like water turning a waterwheel.

Dual Combustion Chambers

  1. Chamber 1 (rotor-driven): Air is drawn in by the large fan, then compressed through the low-pressure and high-pressure compressor stages. The compressed air enters a simplified combustion chamber, mixes with fuel, and is ignited by a spark plug. This produces flames that spin the turbine, demonstrating the complete compress–burn–turbine cycle of a jet engine.

  2. Chamber 2 (air pump-driven): A small external air pump injects air into this second combustion chamber, mixes it with fuel, and ignites it with a spark plug. This chamber is the main source of thrust for the model, enabling it to hover in suspension and produce a visible jet-flame effect.

Thrust Distribution:

  • Chamber 1 (turbine-driven): ~15%

  • Chamber 2 (external pump-driven): ~50%

  • Chamber 1 + Chamber 2 combination demonstrates airflow, compression, and combustion in a realistic and educational way, even though total thrust is modest (~10 g).

Even with a total thrust of only ~10 g, you can clearly observe how air is compressed, fuel ignites, and the turbine spins—making complex jet engine principles tangible and visually striking.

Operating Instructions

  1. Setup

    • Ensure engine, air pump, battery box, fuel tank, tubing, ignition system, and control box are present.

    • Place on a stable, heat-resistant, ventilated surface, away from flammable objects.

  2. Add Fuel

    • Fill the fuel tank with liquefied gas (LPG, commonly used for portable stoves).

    • Check that all tubing connections are secure and avoid overfilling.

  3. Install Battery

    • Insert battery according to polarity. Ensure good contact.

  4. Start Engine

    • Turn on the mini air pump.

    • Activate the ignition system via the control box.

    • Observe compressors and turbine accelerate to normal speed.

  5. Run & Observe

    • Operate up to 5 minutes; automatic shutoff protects components.

    • Keep hands away from high-speed blades and flames.

  6. Cool Down & Reuse

    • Wait for model to cool to room temperature before restarting.

    • Avoid continuous operation beyond recommended time.

  7. Safety Tips

    • Only ~10 g thrust—do not attempt flight or load-bearing.

    • Operate in ventilated areas, away from fire sources.

    • Allow cooling before touching or moving.

    • Store out of reach of children, keep dry and dust-free.

Realistic Operation

I purchased this turbine model because I wanted something that demonstrates how a real jet engine works, and it exceeded my expectations. The fan blades spin at high speed, the air compresses beautifully, and the flame from the combustion chamber is very clear. Watching the entire process from air intake to exhaust is fascinating. The automatic shutoff ensures safety, and the design details make it feel like a real engineering marvel.

Build Quality

The engine feels very solid and well-constructed. The aluminum alloy body is smooth and precise, and the stainless steel turbine is durable and heat-resistant. Every part fits perfectly, and there are no loose components or vibrations when it runs. It looks and feels like a premium product rather than just a desktop model.
