I ordered the Walking Beam Steam Engine out of curiosity as I wanted to learn more about steam engines. I got more enjoyment from this product than I expected. I just ordered the Mill Steam Engine today. Great product for all age groups!
I was sent this as a review sample. I haven't been asked to review on here but I wanted to write a review anyway. The company have been really lovely in all communications and the kit arrived in perfect condition. Everything went together easily (and quickly) and the engine is a thing of beauty! It can run well slowly which is very important for a small engine and isn't always the case for something this small. The instructions could do with a little more info in places and a couple of revisions but are generally very clear. Packaging is beautiful and well thought out to protect the parts. The Cison LS V8 introduces a way more powerful fan for cooling your model engine.

Cison did it they created a computer controlled multi coil ignition system and it works great 👍
The mcu actually uses 5 points from the crankshaft pulley 4 for ignition points and one for data, the mcu also uses coolant temp to adjust the timing of the engine.
I'm still in program 2 with 8k rev limiter, and hearing the rev limiter kick in is so cool I love it.
Note use ultra black to secure the hall sensor in place, parallel to the engine and use a flat washer with mounting capscrew.
It is neat watching the mcu correct ignition as the engine is running.
There's also an extra port for fuel injection which makes me believe fuel injection is next.

Wow! This little oil filter is amazing 👏 There is 28 pieces that make up this one part, it's pretty incredible.
Cison used real glass and machined aluminum with steel and brass pieces and o-rings to seal it up, no leaks at all.
The cartridge can carefully be cleaned.
I'm on the 4th oil and this oil filter has been working flawlessly.
Another amazing example of Cison's high standards.

This is a realistic model steam engine that looks the part. Every aspect of this SE-03 has the best finish and detail of any model. And the price is not unreasonable for the quality provided. A certain German steam engine provider for nearly the same price uses stamped sheet metal parts, a non-working govenor, and no ball bearings. On this one, the flyball governor actually works. My only negative is the pressure gauge. It is not up to the detail and quality of the rest of this engine. Worse, it is a press fit, and when steam pressure begins to build, the gauge rocket launches into the atmosphere. This one item needs some redesigning. If the pressure gauge were up to the level of the rest of this model, I would rate this as the best boiler/steam engine commercially available. And get the workshop. Makes a great combo!
This cart/trolley has been made so so well that it’s unimaginable to think something like this should even exist!! No one will make the wheels that’s machined from stainless steel and then have hand riveted spokes that stainless as well I am sure attached to the wheel rim. And it looks so scale and premium! The rest are brass, stainless and the brackets and swivel front end are anodized aluminum. The wheels rotate smooth, they are brass bushed. The swivel front end it’s on a freaking thrust bearing for that smooth motion. I see that in one of the renderings there was a leaf spring up front. I will make some from sst and add it in. Make the skid from your fav wood and bolt it on for a custom trolley! Such an underdog. Can be used for antique hit and miss engines, steam engines, a logging cart and a number of things.
Well, that was a good full day experience. Took me like 8 hours to fully assemble the model with some minor modifications. The quality is superb and the instructions are well made, only 1-2 problems in the manual, which have to do with previews versions of the engine I guess.
The only thing missing from the kit is some kind of a rubber to put under the metal base to avoid scratching and vibration noise. But you can solve it very easy with a DIY.
My opinion is that it worth the money and the effort because it a well done build and after that it looks awesome for display.

Great helicopter, love the size flys awesome and battery last a good 12 minutes. Perfect for the RC airfield or just flying around the yard. Very happy with the purchase of this helicopter. Details are amazing GPS is great for beginners and the manual mode is great for intermediate or expert pilots. This helicopter is an all around home run.
Wow - a miniature turbofan engine that works just like the ones that power jetliners! It is very well built and looks great. When combustion starts inside the engine you can see it spin up to high speed. There are a lot of turbofan engine kits available, and some spin powered by an electric motor. But this is the only one that actually functions like a real turbofan engine. Well worth it!
Very high-quality engine kit! It was the most satisfying kit I have ever assembled! Take your time installing the O-Rings for the cylinder sleeves, lubricate them very well with grease or oil and be careful after getting them through the top O-Ring. They will bind up really easy and makes it very hard to get them down to the two bottom O-Rings or they will go down to fast, and you will damage the bottom O-Rings. I damaged two O-Rings and had to replace them. I was looking at the bottom of the sleeves after they were in all the way and there were small pieces of the O-Rings at the bottom showing I damaged them. After that everything was easy and very satisfying and fun for me. I repainted the outside of the engine block and valve covers Black and removed the orange paint from the front timing gear cover and the oil pan and polished them. I also replaced the red 20-gauge spark plug wires that comes in the kit with blue 16-gauge wire that was the same OD as the red wires in the kit (approved by Stirlingkit customer service). The larger inside copper wire when stripped, fold it over double fills the entire inside of boots and you will not ever loose connectivity for the spark and you don't have to solder or make any special ends for the wires!!!!! Stirlingkit is a great company with outstanding quality products and customer service!!!!!!!!!
I had fun assembling this V8 motor, quality was good in this price range. Assembly Manual has some problems but nothing you can’t sort out with some extra focus. Took me about 8 hours in total to the final assembly with the supercharger and some little painting.
Conclusion is, YES it’s worth buying if you are into assembling miniatures.

Great product! They shipped it quickly to start with and arrived in quality packaging. The kit itself was clearly extremely well manufactured. Precisely machined parts! Only other comment would be that the instructions could be better for the complete amateur like myself! Overall, excellent!!
Have had my lister D for 2 weeks now. It arrived in perfect condition. It starts easily, but you do need to crank it at a fast speed, and check that the spark plug lead is making contact with the spark plug. The instructions say 5/10 ml of engine oil, but 10 ml is too much and you will have oil leaks from the crank shaft. Reduce to 5 ml and you won’t have a problem.
The engine will run for at least 40 minutes on a full tank of fuel. I have run mine for 5 hours now without any problem. Have changed the oil once.

The Lister type D, which OKMO and Retrol model is set off beautifully by this top quality, historically accurate kart.
You might like it cheaper but it's solid and the box is big. Add retailer margin, and you'll see why this small-run product of this quality is not cheaper. Mine could have used different screws as the holes for the ignition box seemed too short and the engine mounting holes too big. Tiny issue. Easily fixed. Built VERY solid
Quite an advanced subject to model and here in mid 2026 OKMO and Retrol have gone the "extra mile" with superb design, excellent quality, great paint, useful accessories and a fun experience adding the kart. This would be a tricky engine to build and tune and I'm glad Jin at OKMO didn't rush. WORTH THE WAIT - a most recognizable vintage engine!
