Product details

Retro Horizontal Four-stroke Water-cooling Gasoline Engine Internal Combustion Engine Model

.Numerous engines appeared in Europe in the early twentieth century. The reliability of hot bulb engines, the ability to use multiple fuels, and the operation for hours or days at a time made them popular among agricultural, forestry, and marine users, where they were used for pumping and powering milling, sawing and threshing machinery. Hot-ball engines are also used in road rollers and tractors.
.Inspired by the engines that appeared in Europe in the early 1900s, the horizontal four-stroke gas engine, with an extremely distinctive large cast iron flywheel, is made of a large number of cast iron castings and dark green paint treatment on the surface for more retro texture.
.Adopting CDI high-pressure ignition, benzine as the fuel and piston pump for water cooling, the engine features adjustable compression ratio&stroke and a simulated crank hand to start the engine for the restoration of the original flavor.
.Paired with a high-end wood base, the model is able to keep at a low speed and run steadily for superior performance widely praised by people, making an excellent desktop model and a prime choice for collectors of retro engines.
.The ready-to-run engine comes with a spark plug and igniter. And all you need to prepare is batteries and fuel.

Mill engine

My engine arrived with the base in two pieces. Not very happy

Piston Ring Binding.

After running the engine for several hours I noticed the engine would start to bind up while warm. This would go away after the engine cooled. I took the engine apart and found the cylinder walls to be polished like a mirror from the rubber O rings. It seems four rings are too many. The two middle rings receive no oil after the cylinder walls become polished. I removed the two lower rings and found the engine runs just fine with no cylinder blow by. It still maintains full compression. I have always oiled the back of the piston before running. Oiling the back of the piston will keep both rings lubricated. If you need new rings the size is 1mm wire thickness by 22mm diameter.

Love My New Engine

I run my engine on a 50:1 two cycle mix. Stihl leaf blower mix. I did have a problem with the clear plastic tube gasoline tank. After putting gas in the tank I noticed a small crack. The next day the plastic tank was full of cracks. It seems the gasoline was reacting with the plastic. I ordered a new piece of polycarbonate tubing 1-1/4 x 1-1/8. It fit fine and made a good seal after careful cutting. The new tube holds up with gasoline. I notice to be careful not to choke while starting more than one turn of the crank or sparkplug will foul. The seal washer on the plug is poor quality. I needed to place a small amount of RTV sealant on the washer to make a good seal. I test the seal with leak soap to ensure a good seal. I can now start the engine with less than one turn. I feel like a kid with a new toy!

RETROL Vintage Horizontal Mill Engine

Very nice engine, had a problem with the pick-up on the CDI ignition so I installed a micro switch with harden points in it (just use the white and black wires from the CDI). It runs perfectly. Very enjoyable engine to run.
