Retrol Will Make a New Hit & Miss Engine with Chimney Exhaust | Stirlingkit

In order to further drive innovation and provide engine players, enthusiasts, and collectors with a highly performant, playable, and cost-effective Hit and Miss Engine Model, the RETROL team has dedicated 4 months to research and design this brand new Hit n Miss engine model, "H and M-01".

Meticulously selected high-quality materials and exquisite craftsmanship will ensure the engine's reliability and durability. The RETROL brand logo will be prominently displayed on the main body of the machine, with the MUSA factory logo complementing it, as the RETROL team will cooperate with MUSA factory to produce and manufacture it together. RETROL team has always aimed to pursue a boutique approach, continuously striving to design more exceptional, high-quality products to elevate and solidify RETROL’s brand stature in the realm of simulated scale engine models.

Meanwhile, the MUSA factory consistently emphasizes product quality and scientific mechanical design, ensuring that the production and processing of this engine meet first-tier standards in terms of both appearance and meticulous attention to detail.

In terms of product design:

(1)The design features a transparent and adjustable main oil cup to fully meet lubrication requirements, ensuring enhanced durability and longer lifespan of the engine.

(2)The novel carburetor design allows for easier adjustment and is more user-friendly, especially for beginners.

(3)The current exhaust pipe design provides an improved exhaust sound. In comparison, previous designs of such engines were simple and emitted exhaust gases in all directions, often causing oil to splash or spray onto the base, resulting in a messy appearance.

(4)The inclusion of a resonating exhaust pipe design reproduces the exhaust soundand adds a unique aesthetic appeal. This sound can only be heard when the machine operates at extremely low speeds. In order to ensure stable operation at low speeds, the design took into consideration the inclusion of an adjustable spring-loaded ball, balancing the flywheel, and a lever for switching between high and low-speed gears. Two large flywheels with well-balanced weights are incorporated to meet the demands of low-speed operation.

(5)One flywheel is equipped with a spring-loaded ball design, while the other features a split-type wide-faced belt pulley, making the engine highly practical for power output.

(6)A specially designed feature, rarely seen in other engines, is the "quick-slow speed switch," which allows for switching the engine speed according to requirements. This enables the engine to operate at ultra-low speeds or high speeds for power output, providing a greater sense of playability and control for users.

In terms of product craftsmanship:

(1) The entire machine is colored in Racing Red, using a higher-cost electrophoretic paint process for surface treatment, ensuring a refined and glossy appearance.

(2) The main components of the machine, including the engine body, flywheel, and connecting rods, are cast from stainless steel 304 material.

(3) All assembly surfaces are CNC precision machined.

(4) The crankshaft is made of high carbon steel and hardened as a single unit.

Stirlingkit & Retrol team will engrave a nameplate on the engine body for easy collection by users. we will provide a unique nameplate numbering (No: 23001 to No: 23200) for the first 200 customers. Stay tuned. We will share more details soon.

We are considering 3 ways of selling this hit and miss engine. Which one do you prefer? Please comment.

Semi-finished kit version: we only performed initial casting or machining for this. You need to carry out minimal processing, coloring, and assembly by yourself after receiving it.

KIT spare parts version: the pieces have already been fully processed and colored; you just need to put them together yourself; this is the approach now used by the majority of engines.

RTR completed version: this type of version is intended for novices or those who don't enjoy self-assembly.

Could you give me the measurements of the engine, mainly the flywheel diameter. Thanks Les

Great looking engine. I would be equally interested in RTR or self assembly. Unmachined castings would be more labor than I would want to get into for a model. Need to see a video of this running!

I specialise on getting Chinese Hit & Miss models to run perfectly on my youtube channel Thomas PCGuu Engines. I would be interested in either RTR option or self-assmbly machined and painted kit option. I think unmachined castings option is too difficult for your customer type. I could be wrong though??

How big is the model? How much?
