About CISON L4-175

The Cison L4-175 OHV engine kit is an upgraded version of the FL4-175 F-head L4 gasoline engine kit with added red sports elements on the surface and a bionics-inspired carburetor design. It has a unique, mini, and compact appearance with nearly the same displacement as its predecessor.

The OHV valve mechanism gives the L4-175 engine higher torque output and better power output performance compared to the F-head design, making it more compatible with RC off-road trucks, tows, and other models demanding low-end torque. Equipped with a standard electrical starting system, water cooling system, and independent lubrication system, the L4-175 OHV engine kit comes in two versions: a KIT version and a finished version.

The engine boasts printing inlet pipes and exhaust pipes that are integrated with metal and stainless steel, along with a carburetor designed by bionics for easy adjustment, more sensitive throttle response, and deep and powerful sound. The independent lubrication system and the external oil pump are utilized for superior lubrication when matched with mini oil filters, while the engine is cooled with a water cycle for longer operation and lifespan.

With a total of hundreds of metal parts, the L4-175 engine kit allows you to start a great and challenging project, enter the world of micromechanical engineering, and DIY builds your own L4 engine. The main body of the engine is made of aluminum CNC in precision processing, with a special bimetal cast iron piston ring, high-precision stiffening cylinder liner, integral stiffening crankshaft, and sandblasting oxidation on the surface for an impressive beauty and texture.

Frequently asked questions

The L4-175 OHV engine kit comes in two versions: a KIT version and a finished version, both equipped with a standard electrical starting system, a water cooling system, and an independent lubrication system. However, the base, CDI igniter, spark plug, that means the starter kits, oil filter, and water cooling accessories are not included.

Assembling the L4-175 OHV engine kit requires some level of micromechanical engineering knowledge and skills. It is recommended to follow the instructions carefully and take the necessary precautions to avoid damage by improper operation.

yes. but please check with Stirlingkit for specific warranty terms and conditions.

The L4-175 OHV engine is suitable for 1/8 and 1/14 crawler, off-road, and tractor models that require low torque. It is also suitable for RC off-road GP models.

The choice between the OHV and flathead engine would depend on the specific application and performance requirements. Generally, OHV engines tend to offer better power output and torque performance due to their design, while flathead engines are typically more simple in design and may be more suitable for applications that prioritize ease of maintenance and durability.

If your application requires higher torque output and better power output performance, then the L4-175 OHV engine may be the better choice for you. However, if your priority is a simpler design that is easier to maintain and offers good durability, then the FL4-175 F-head engine may be more suitable.

It is important to consider the specific requirements of your application when choosing an engine and to make sure that the engine you choose is compatible with your model or vehicle.

It is not recommended to use the L4-175 OHV engine for models or vehicles that require high-end performance or horsepower. It is specifically designed for models that require low torque.

In order to better match the RC car model, Cison specially designed a straight exhaust pipe with the carburetor installed downwards. Normally, our carburetor is facing upwards to better adjust the size of the throttle by hand. But it is extremely inconvenient for car modification enthusiasts, because the throttle control must be under the engine. This straight exhaust pipe solves this problem very well. Of course, both exhaust pipes can be used for this straight four engine.

The Cison L4175-OHV model is a gasoline internal combustion engine with an OHV valve mechanism. It has a displacement of 17.5CC and a cylinder configuration of L4. The engine operates using a four-stroke cycle with a cylinder diameter of 16.7mm and a stroke of 14mm. The RPM range for this engine is 1500-8000rpm, and it generates about 2.5ps of power. The cooling mode used is water cooling, and the engine has an independent lubrication system. The starting mode is electronic, and it requires a CDI igniter for CISON L4 engine (not included) and a 1/4-32 thread ME8 spark plug (not included). The recommended starting power is 6-14V, and a 12V Li battery is recommended (not included). The engine operates using 92# gasoline and above and requires 2T engine oil for lubrication, with 10W50 engine oil being recommended. The cylinder dimensions are 96*43mm, and the product dimensions are 13.5 x 10.24 x 10.5cm. The engine weighs 1300g, and the package dimensions are 20 x 20 x 20cm, with a package weight of 2200g.

The L4-175 OHV engine kit is perfect for machine enthusiasts and engine model aficionados, and it also makes an excellent "heart" for 1/8 and 1/14 crawler, off-road, and tractor models that require low torque. It is available as a high-end personalized gift for families and friends, and it is a prime choice for RC off-road GP models.

The L4-175 OHV engine features an OHV valve mechanism that provides higher torque output and better power output performance than the F-head design. It also has added red sports elements on the surface and a bionics-inspired carburetor design.

Some Engine Projects Our Customers are Working On

"I would love to share how I made the dynamo base. I really like the engine and am so grateful to the engineers who designed and built it. I found out about the ESC project for electric skateboarders. I want to use regenerative for the dynamo move. Found this for small engines"

Another INCREDIBLE Cison Engine!

Cison Engines has done it again with their L4–175 17.5cc miniature four stroke, OHV four-cylinder engine.

The L4-175 engine is my fourth Cison engine I have bought from Stirlingkit, and what an amazing kit!
Just like the FL4 flathead kit, the L4 OHV went together flawlessly, was fun to build with easy to follow build instructions.

Parts quality, fit, finish, and layout is awesome. It’s easy to see Stirlingkit and Cison are proud of the L4, just by the kit’s presentation.

My kit arrived quickly, 4 days after it was shipped from Stirlingkit’s warehouse.
Packaging has always been perfect and arrives safely, just as each and every one of my orders have arrived from Stirlingkit.
Assembly instructions are in an easy to follow QR code based illustrated manual, in numbered parts & parts location format. Once I completed the kit, I installed the components of the starting set (Hall sensor, CDI, coolant lines & radiator) and had immediate success starting & running my engine. Performance is incredible, and tuning is very straightforward.
The Cison L4-175 definitely runs phenomenally.

Huge applause to Stirlingkit & Cison for producing another awesome engine!!
