This is very easy to run, I fired it with lantern fluid and runs nicely and sounds nice as well. Run it outside with little to no wind, and bend the shield on the burner out a little to let in better air flow, it does help, I manage to fire it twice with one fill of hot water. The governor is adjustable, the ends of the boiler are bolted on, meaning you can fully disassemble it and clean the inside very easily. Placing the beam just right so the piston didn't have to much friction took a lot of tinkering, I also polished the piston before putting it in, figure it might help extend its life and improve performance a little. This model also has a piston drain, pretty cool. Totally recommend this kit

A really enjoyable kit. Was fun to build and have run mine for over 20 hours in total with only 1 minor problem, the steam cylinder popped out of the base which is held in by friction. Pushed it back in and off it went. The flywheel on mine does not run true but this is more a cosmetic issue. I like the fact it runs on spirits instead of tablets as they can be hard to find and expensive here in Australia where a bottle of metho is cheaper and easier to get. The steam whistle is not very effective compared to my Wilesco model but overall am very happy with this kit. Would I buy it again? A definite yes! Also found on mine if you only run it on one burner it generates enough steam to run at low speed for twice as long. My record is 28 minutes. A joy to sit and stare at for hours on end! Because it can be run at low speed you can really see and appreciate all the workings and features of the engine. The boiler which can be pulled apart for cleaning etc has not leaked either and seems very well constructed.
