Key Differences Between the New and Old Toyan V8
The newly upgraded Toyan V8 FS-V800WGPC not only boasts a more refined design but also significantly improves on several key aspects compared to the old model. Below is a detailed comparison to highlight the improvements made to the new model:
1. More Compact and Lightweight Design
New Model: More compact and lighter, with dimensions of 177.00×173.45×153.89mm and weighing just 4.8kg, offering better stability and performance.
- Old Model: Larger and heavier, with a less manageable size and weight that could impact handling and stability.

2. Optimized Performance Parameters
- Displacement: Both models have a consistent 28cc (3.5cc×8) displacement for strong power output.
- RPM Range:
- Old Model: 3000-12500rpm, designed for high-speed operation.
- New Model: 1950-8650rpm, optimized for smoother low-speed operation, resulting in better fuel efficiency and stability.
3. Internal Configuration Improvements
- Valve Mechanism: The new model upgrades from SOHC (Single Overhead Cam),pushrod configuration, to OHV (Overhead Valve) for improved airflow control and combustion efficiency.
- Piston: The new model features a double-ring piston design (1 air ring + 1 oil ring), improving sealing and lubrication compared to the old single-ring piston.
- Crankshaft: The new model uses a high-strength, one-piece integrated crankshaft with five-point support and a 90° cross-plane design, ensuring enhanced durability, stability, and precision.
4. Enhanced Cooling and Lubrication Systems
- Cooling Method: Both models use mechanical water cooling, but the new model features dual gear pumps for superior cooling efficiency. This dual independent cooling system significantly extends runtime and improves heat management.
- Lubrication Method: The classic mixed-oil lubrication design is retained in both models, ensuring smooth and reliable engine operation.
5. Exhaust, Carburetor, and Air Filter Upgrades
- Exhaust System: The new model uses a segmented exhaust pipe for better heat dissipation and easier maintenance, unlike the integrated exhaust manifold in the old model.
- Carburetor and Air Filter:
- Carburetor: The new model features a single carburetor with a transparent fuel bulb, making it easier to monitor fuel levels.
- Air Filter: The new model comes with a circular mesh filter that supports one-touch oil absorption and easier cleaning. It also includes a cold-start cover to improve performance during cold starts.

6. Upgraded Electric Start System
The new model features a reinforced starter shaft with a reduced-speed gear and added relay for better protection against overload, making the electric start more reliable and smoother.
7. Distributor Optimization
- Old Model: The dual floating distributors often caused misfires, spark skipping, and difficult adjustments with messy wiring.
- New Model: A single contact distributor with a V8-specific CDI allows for easier adjustments, cleaner wiring, and more stable, reliable performance.

8. Optional Accessories Upgrades
- Radiator: The new model offers an optional high-performance finned radiator for better cooling efficiency.
- Base: While the old model includes iron or aluminum alloy bases, the new model upgrades to a premium wooden base for a more refined look.
