According to the web page description this item... has a luminous gyroscope?... has removable & interchangeable parts... has a bulb that lights up... and comes with an extra flywheel & allen key. That's all great and sounds like a fun item, but in reality: the "gyroscope" does not light up - I suspect a dead battery, no extra flywheel was included & no allen key was included, so there is nothing to remove & interchange, the engine can barely generate 2.5V - so the 5V bulb is never going to lite up. Oddly after a few minutes of running this engine now does not even work. It does need to heat up before running but now even after 5 minutes of direct flame this engine just won't run. I can only post 1 video so I cannot show the "dead" engine. Overall I can't give this more than 1 star for the overhyped description & missing parts
This engine runs very well, the problem is that the engine they sent does NOT match the item in the picture. I specifically wanted a thermo stirling engine with an "extended" hot tube. What they sent was the standard "short" hot tube variety. I already have 2 engines of this style, if I wanted another I could have purchased the one from this site for $23.99 or $19.99. Instead, I paid $29.99. If Stirlingkit no longer have this item in stock, they should UPDATE their website pictures and ADVISE the customer accordingly. This is very poor business practice on the part of Stirlingkit to make an unauthorized substitution. I have been very satisfied with my other purchases from Stirlingkit up until now
Well I have built this little engine was fun to build took me from 11pm to round 7 am the next morning as I was taking my time going to put it on a stand then start it up just waiting for the stand/base for it
A nicely packed kit love how the box is wood and everything is packed in black foam trays instructions are online but the contents are in plastic box’s. Like screw’s nuts and everything else needed to build it
